What is Work Related Stress?
 
Work related stress has been described as 'the adverse reaction people have to excessive pressure or other types of demand on them' (Health & Safety Executive)
 
To comply with the law, employers have duties to their employees:
 
  • Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to safeguard the health and safety of their employees

and

 

  • Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 to assess the risks arising from work activities and reduce them as far as possible.

 

 

 

Both duties apply to stress-related ill health.

 Therapies in the Workplace

 

These are conducted during office hours only.

 

 

Our Indian Head Massage uses no oils or creams and clients remain clothed. We massage the upperback, neck, arms, shoulders and head while the client is seated.

 

 

Reflexology is conducted while the client is sitting, with tights or socks and shoes removed. Wipes and talcum powder are used.

 

Guided Meditation is conducted with a Group, seated in chairs, preferably in a quiet room.

 

Reflexology and Indian Head Massage Sessions are a minimum of 10 minutes in duration per client.

 

Guided Meditation is conducted, with a group and a session is 45 minutes in duration

 

What We Require for Our Therapies:

 

  • A designated room or private area for the therapies
  • Number of clients, and which therapies they require
  • A personal details and general health questionnaire must be completed by each client prior to treatment. These are usually emailed prior to the appointment to be completed, this saves time.
  • The Therapist must have a scheduled 10 minute break every hour.

 

Co-workers might arrange these therapies where company resourses are not available
