Facial Aftercare Advice
 
 
To get the most from your facial treatment it is advisable to:
 
  • book regular treatments every four - six weeks.
  • avoid make-up for up to 12 hrs, except light mascara and lipstick.
  • increase your water intake.
  • avoid sun-bathing for up to 12 hrs.
  • avoid direct heat, such as a sauna, a hot bath or a hot hairdryer.
  • avoid swimming for up to 12 hrs.
  • avoid smoking and alcohol - this is ageing and damages the complexion.

 

Manicure and Pedicure Aftercare Advice

 

                                      

 

  • book in for regular appointments at least every 2-4 weeks.
  • always use a base coat under nail polish.
  • use a good quality top coat to prevent chipping of the polish.
  • use hand cream or lotion every day.
  • use a cuticle cream or oil to moisturise the soft tissue around the nails.
  • keep nails at a sensible length.
  • use a foot file in-between pedicures to keep hard skin under control.
  • dry feet thoroughly after washing.
  • don't wear tight socks, tights or shoes.
  • exercise your feet regularly - walk around barefoot.
  • Please be aware that nail polish can take up to two hours to dry completely.
  • We advise no closed in shoes, excessive driving or walking for at least 2 hours after your manicure or pedicure.
  • Silvermoon Holistic and Beauty Therapy take no responsibility if your manicure or pedicure is damaged once you have left The Retreat.

 Eye Treatment Aftercare Advice following Tinting and/or Perming

 

                   

  • a patch test is necessary 24 hrs before any perming or tinting.
  • avoid rubbing the eyes.
  • avoid heat treatments for 24 hrs.
  • avoid sunbathing for 24hrs, as this fades the tint.
  • avoid putting  your contact lenses back in for the rest of the day.
  • although we make sure every trace of dye is removed, it is possible that some residue may remain.
  • do not apply make-up or receive any further eye treatments for at least 24 hrs after your treatment.

 

Holistic Therapy Aftercare Advice

 following Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candling, Back, Neck, Shoulder & Scalp Massage, Eastern Facial Massage.

 

                                          

 

                                        

To gain the maximum benefit from your treatment:

 

  • book in for regular appointments (holistic therapy is alway accumulative).
  • increase your water intake to assist your body in the detoxification process.
  • have a suitable rest period after the treatment.
  • cut down on the consumtion of stimulants e.g. alcohol, tea, coffe, fizzy drinks.
  • do not undertake a long drive or strenuous activity directly after having a treatment.

 

You may experience some reactions following treatment. These are generally beneficial to your body, although they can sometimes be unpleasant.

This is called a 'Healing Crisis' and it isn't anything to worry about. However, should your symptoms persist after 24 hrs, please consult your GP.

 

Possible reactions are:

 

  • feeling sleepy and tired, or, extremely alert and energised.
  • feeling warm, which is due to improved circulation
  • increase in urination/bowel movement due to the body releasing toxins and digestion being stimulated.
  • aching and soreness of muscles, this will be short-lived and should be followed by the relief of tension.
  • headache. Drinking plenty of water will help with this.
  • less stressed and more relaxed.
  • improved sleep patterns.
  • general feeling of wellbeing.
